The bar charts describe the proportion of people who bought music albums with different genres in Britain according to their age and gender. It can be generally seen that each individual has different preferences as regards to music. It is noticeable that the 25-34 age cohort remains as the most common purchasers of pop, rock and classical music.
First of all, in pop music, the 25-34 age group has the largest percentage, reaching about 31 per cent. It is minimally greater that the 16-24 age cohort, at exactly 30 per cent. The 45 and above age cohort does not prefer pop music compared with the male and female group, comprising ten per cent. However, in rock music, the proportions of male and female, which have 29 per cent and 19 per cent in pop music, remain unchanged. Similarly, the 16-45 and above age cohorts reach the same rates they have in the pop music.
In classical music, the 45 and above age group significantly climbs to approximately 20 per cent, whereas the 25-34 age cohort and the 35-44 age cohort dramatically drop to roughly two per cent and three per cent accordingly. Likewise, both male and female groups fall to a figure ranging from seven to nine per cent. The 25-34 age group was the second most popular in classical music.
