Task 2

Post by Renard »

When country develops its technology, the traditional skills and way of life die out.
To what extent you agree or disagree with this opinion?

Everything in the world develops and changes, especially in last decades. Changes make people worry about feature as they afraid of uncertainty. It is common for people consider development as probability to lose something. Nowadays, they consider technology as a killer of traditional way of life. This argument should be consider carefully.
Looking first at the past, historically people always consider their past as something that go away. It lies in people nature and it calls nostalgia, that makes people consider new as bad and old as good. For instance Antic Greek's philosophy, such as Platoon, called the past "gold century", where people lived with piece. But is the community in which people think in generally only about hunting and getting something to eat is "gold"? We could others history period and find another imaginations about "gold centuries", that consider only past. These examples make it clear that people always try regret about the time going by.
The second thesis to consider would be also historical. People could see how many thing have been done, but lots of traditions have not been forgiven. Moreover, traditional skills and way of living have became sacral. People have started to consider them as something special. From this it can be concluded, that technology development could not kill traditions completely.
Following by analyzing people's reaction towards changes, it could be said that people tend to over-estimate consequences of development. As has been shown people like nostalgia a lot. It is predicted that development brings lots of new, throw away old things that are not relative to evaluation, but it does not mean traditional way will die completely, many things would be saved only because of nostalgia.
