Some People say that the best way to improve public health is by increasing the number of sports facilities. Others, however, say that this would have little effect on public health and that other measures are required.
Discuss both these views and give your opinion.

Having good health is the basic necessity for happy and prosperous life, and what is considered as effective practice by one group may not be considered by another. There are different views about the effect of sports facilities and other measures for maintaining improved health. On the one hand, it is argued by many that playing sports such as football, cricket, swimming or other healthier exercises is the best way to improve and maintain a healthy life and increasing the number of sports facilities will facilitate more people. On the other hand, many believe that this would be less effective and other measures such as eating healthy diets could be more effective way than playing sports. Both these ideas will be critiqued before we can reach a reasoned conclusion.
On the one hand, many people argue that playing sports plays a central role in maintaining improved health and these facilities should be increased in numbers to facilitate as many people as possible. For example, Australia, Sydney in particular, has a large number of play grounds and many leisure clubs offering enormous number of sports facilities. People ranging from different age groups tend to participate in playing games in these play grounds and utilize the facilities in leisure clubs such as swimming, gymnasium and other games that has resulted in healthier life style of the public. This has resulted in increased life expectancy. Similar results can be achieved on larger scale if the number of sports facilities are extended and utilized by public every. Because of this, it is easy to understand that why many people support the idea of increasing sports facilities.
On the other hand, many people argue that other measures such as engaging in practice of eating healthy food can result in improved public health. For example, In Canada, these day’s people prefer to consume organic food. Many people have busy routine lifestyle due to the nature of jobs these days and could not spare time for exercise. Also, weather would not support too many outdoor sports activities at all times. People with such a busy schedule mostly prefer to eat healthy organic food. These foods are a healthier nutrition and have many benefits. Considering the benefits, organic food have, the idea of healthier life through this food is supported.
After analyzing both sides, it is agreed that organic foods have enormous benefits and will ensure healthy life, however the benefits, playing sports and doing exercises, brings to people cannot be achieved by any other means. Therefore, increasing sports facilities is considered the best way for improved public health. It is assumed that more investment will be made to provide sports facilities to public.
