More and more people are studying online. In the future, this form of education
will replace the traditional classroom. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Task 2 (277 words)

Nowadays, many people believe that traditional classrooms will be no longer
suitable for future learning as online classes have become more and more
popular. In my opinion, I strongly disagree with this view and believe that the
traditional teaching method always plays such an important role for the following
reasons.

Firstly, online learning could be unable to assure the quality of education, which
can be seen clearly through the Covid-19 pandemic. Children studying in front of
a screen can be easily distracted by other factors like notifications from social
media or online video games, which prevents them from focusing on the
lecturers and results in shorter attention spans of many youngsters nowadays.

Another implication of online classes could be the students’ lack of soft skills and
the ability to interact with others in real life. For example, during the lockdown
period, children were used to living virtually by chatting or talking on a phone
instead of talking face to face with others. They weren’t allowed to go out and
take part in outdoor activities, which means they tended to be less active. Some
students even don’t know what their classmates look like as they can see just a
name on the screen. Last but not least, sitting for a long time with a computer
can be related to a variety of health concerns as it may badly affect our eyes and
bones as well.

In conclusion, despite the undeniable benefits and convenience that online
courses could bring us, they still can’t completely replace traditional classes. In
my opinion, we can combine both types of teaching to assure educational quality
as well as make use of technology devices.
