Do the benefits of tourism outweigh the drawbacks?

It is true that people all over the world love to travel. This is obvious where the demand for airline and hotel booking are on the increase. It is believed that the advantages or tourism outweigh the disadvantages. This will be proven by looking at how tourism broaden a person horizon and how it improves the standard of living.

First, tourism increases an individual knowledge about other countries. For example, when people visit a new country, they would experience a new culture, nature, backgrounds and believe. As this shows, this experience will have a huge positive impact on people as it shows them that people are not the same and they have to be receptive to them and live in harmony with them, this shift in mentality will not be possible with out traveling to different countries. Thus, the advantages of tourism is obvious.

Second, tourism industries help to improve the standard of living. For instance, new jobs opportunity will be created as people will sell goods and services. From this example it can be seen that, when a tourist visit a country, they will be in need of transportation, foods, and hotel as well, beside that they will make a rewarding movement in market with buying local and traditional hand- made items, in order to do so they have to spend a massive amount of hard currency and this would have a positive ramification on the country’s economy, however, this will not happen in the absence of tourists. Therefore, the benefits of tourism is clear.

After looking how tourism help widen an individual horizon and how it boost up a county’s economy , it has been proven that the advantages of tourism outweigh the disadvantages, it is predicted that the tourism industry will grow further the world over.
