Writing Task 2 - agree/disagree

Post by faty »

Some people believe that zoos, where animals are kept in a man-made environment should no longer exist in the 21st century. Do you agree or disagree

The environment of zoos for animals, nowadays, has become one of the most disputed issues today. While some people believe that such places should be discouraged, I am in consummate discord of this argument. This will be proven by analyzing the role that zoo-keepers play in order to protect endangered species and at the same time to provide entertainment for tourists in this era.

It is believed today that many wild species are getting extinct due to improper habitat. Zoo-owners bring these animals to provide an environment so that their generations are secured. Brookehawk, one of the endangered species of birds, found in Australian forests, is found to be protected by measures taken by the government. This is done by signing an agreement with one of the modern zoos in Australia. The number of Brooke hawks has now replicated to forty after a pair was brought to the zoo six years back. This reveals that if properly facilitated, animals that are the edge of being extinct can be saved.

In different parts of the world, zoos are also considered to be an attraction for tourists. Wild animals, that are mostly perceived as dangerous creatures are trained to perform in front of people in the most friendly way. This not only helps in gaining information about a specific animal but also becomes a source of entertainment for people. These animals are properly cured with an excellent environment and become friendly with human interaction.

In conclusion, the importance of zoos can not be neglected. In fact, governments should aid to practice updated methods to look after animals in the most natural way possible in different countries. In the future, if this practice continues, we will be able to explore more types of animals around the globe.
