IELTS essay - Tourism

Post by srikumar »

In recent years, tourism is often considered as an important source for the country’s economic as well as political growth. However, it cannot be denied that there are negative effects which cause ill effects to the society. The culture and the nation’s security are the main areas which needs to be preserved by the tourism. To address the damaging effects in those areas, certain government related solutions will be analyzed for its viability.
Firstly, it is felt that there are high chances that certain cultural changes may take place as a result of tourism. For instance, in India night life has become increasingly very popular in last 15 years due to the surge in travellers entering India and the natives travelling abroad to western nations. As a consequence, outside life after midnight has caused a serious menace to public safety. To overcome this issue, the government of India formulated special and strict laws to appoint patrol control guarded over the entire cities to secure the individuals especially the women. Thus it clears that cultural changes can be tackled by certain measures by the government.
Secondly, the nation’s security can be in threat if illegal immigrants enter as tourists. For example, the heartbreaking attack in Taj hotel in Mumbai, India took place by the terrorists who manage to invade the country as tourists. To avoid such enigma, strict rules have been designed to force the proper verification of visa documents and keep an eye on the suspicious entries to the country. Thus, it is evident that certain laws can be enforced to safeguard the country.
In conclusion, it is observed that certain internal rules taken by the government can save the culture and protect the nation from the adverse effects of tourism and urge more visitors to travel abroad.
